Ian Torres McLaughlin grew up in Chicago Illinois. He holds an MFA in Painting from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, and a BFA in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute, 2002. He’s participated in a number of unique projects with remarkable organizations including, Marc Chagall’s “Four Seasons” restoration project, The Chicago Cultural Center’s Tiffany stained glass dome restoration project, The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, and Northwestern University’s Block Museum of Art. He’s taught mural painting at a Colorado charter high school and worked in the nonprofit sector serving on executive management teams and spent time as a ranger-logistics officer, firefighter/EMT, coordinating routine support systems, and emergency services for small and large events in the rural Rockies of Northern Colorado. His art has shown in Boulder, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, and Kansas City.
