Ian McLaughlin
Artist, educator and designer. He holds a MFA and BFA in painting. With over 30 years in the arts, he has taught high school, pre-teens and adults: painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking.
His teaching philosophy is rooted in creating learning environments that are energetically infused with abundance, generosity, and possibility. Influenced by the writings and works of Rebecca Solnit, Mr. Rogers, Sister Corita Kent, The Dada Art Movement, a mentor from planet Ryken, a mentor from planet Rupert, a dear friend from planet Pollen, and a mad chef that cooked at New York City’s Le Cirque in the 1990’s, among others.
Classes take place at Studio 143. The “143” in the moniker, comes from Mr. Rogers, and refers to, in this case, McLaughlin’s love of the studio. The studio, a sanctuary for the imagination, experimentation, freedom, exertion, exploration and growth.
Studio 143 is located at 6317 Arapahoe Rd, Suite 2A, Boulder Colorado, 80303
